Who are you and what do you do?
Famous Fossils is a retail and wholesale company selling fossils of all kinds. It is owned and run by Ian Jinks M.Sc. from Hertfordshire but only 20 miles from North London. We were one of the first UK fossil companies to fully utilise the Internet in its early days. The company has now grown from small beginnings to have the largest selection of fossils for sale on-line in the UK, with several hundred collector items always for sale, as well as many wholesale lines for re-sellers and shops. We are so confident of our keen prices and quality we even publish our wholesale prices. Anyone can purchase form either Retail or Wholesale section even both at the same time.

How do I order fossils from your site?
This could not be more simple. First select either the Retail or Wholesale Section. Then select a catalogue of your choice (don't forget the main catalogue headings have drop down lists below them.) When in a catalogue you will see pictures and prices of fossils. The pictures in the retail sections are the actual item you will be purchasing. If you want to purchase the fossil simply click with your mouse pointer the "Add to Basket " button below the thumbnail picture. You will then see the item listed in a virtual shopping basket to the top of the screen. You may add as many fossils as you wish from any catalogue wholesale or retail. When you have finished shopping simply click the "Checkout" button within the shopping basket screen . This will then take you to the payment area where you can fill in your details and pay for your goods by Paypal (* or phone through the order or select cash or cheque if in the UK).
What methods of payment do you accept?
We now use Paypal to process our card payments. This means your card details are never seen by us and processed over the most secure encrypted system or you can phone us.
How will the fossils be sent to me?
For UK delivery allow up to 10 days and overseas 16 days. This may vary at peek times such as Mid November to Mid January. If you need shorter guaranteed delivery please call us on (+44) (0)1727 769307
We are not a shop or industrial unit but are able to accept visitors to purchase in access of 50 GBP worth of stock only. You will need to make an appointment by either calling us on 01727 769307 or e-mail us at contact@fossils-for-sale.com
What guarantee do I have on the authenticity of your fossils?
Ian Jinks the owner of Famous Fossils has an extensive geological and palaeontological background with a Bachelors degree in Geology and a Masters degree in MicroPalaeontology. This with over 20 years experience in the retail fossil business gives us an extensive knowledge about the items we sell. We back up the authenticity of our fossils with an unlimited time guarantee. This means that if you find that any of our fossils is not the real thing at any time after you have purchased it we will fully refund it as long it is sent back for inspection in the condition it was purchased
What is your Refunds/Returns policy?
We will refund exchange ** any RETAIL item returned within 30 days* along with invoice . **We do NOT accept returns on WHOLESALE items for a refund but will exchange wholesale items within 30 days.
**We will do this as a gesture of goodwill with up to two orders per year ONLY per customer on items where the customer has "changed their mind" as long as within 30 days of placing the order. Refund under this article will be less shipping costs. An order is considered placed once the final stage of checkout is completed. You must inform us via email at contact@fossils-for-sale.com for a returns number BEFORE returning an item otherwise the item will not be refunded.
*Any damaged in transit goods must be notified within 3 days of receiving the goods for a full refund as long as goods are returned with invoice within 30 days.

No data you supply will be shared with a third party.
Privacy Policy
Any data collected is for the sole use of processing and sending your order
It is not shared with any third party and is not held on a data base (unless requested in the form of name and address and phone number and email address for our update lists.)
If you request to join our mail lists your data will only be used to update you with information from Famous Fossils via email
